Inspiration: At First Blush
Possibly the most requested style in my career, it's still a fact: blush weddings aren't going anywhere. When I first started my Satin & Snow wedding inspiration blog 4 years ago, one of my very first posts was about the new trend of wearing blush wedding dresses instead of white. Since then, gown designers have been seriously taking it to new heights: most notably Vera Wang, who released oxblood coloured gowns the following year and continues to push the boundaries (in the best ways).
Blush is romantic, ethereal and the epitome of feminine. You really can't go wrong incorporating the colour into everything from your gown or your bridesmaids' gowns, the flowers, the linens and even the cake. I don't think we'll be seeing an end to this trend anytime soon, and I'm thankful for that. One thing I do try to recommend to my couples that want a blush wedding is to mix in something masculine so it isn't over-the-top girly. Maybe compliment the blush with deep Marsala tones, use grey or brown to add an earthier feel, or even mix lots of metals into the design, just to make sure that your man has a bit of influence in the design too (unless he's really into blush as well, and if that's the case then full steam ahead!!
