On Friday we showed you what was in our trunk: an entire car load of organic wild flowers that we bought from a farm on our way back from venue scouting in Toronto. I spent the weekend preparing all the flowers and getting them ready for their debut at Ashley & Tony's bohemian wedding in Perth, Ontario, and I think the results were pretty precious if I do say so myself.
I have known Ashley for a number of years now. I'm so happy to have had the opportunity to have grown even closer to her and Tony throughout the wedding planning process, and to see their wedding take shape after almost two years of planning and dreaming together was a really great moment for me. So great that I cried while I was walking them through the venue fully decorated for the first time, and when Ashley turned to Tony and said "Oh my god, look at our wedding! This is our wedding!" I damn near lost it.
I put a lot of love and thought into their designs. It was as wild, fun and sweet as they are and everyone felt it as soon as they got into the room. It just goes to show you that you can create beauty and authentic design on any budget.
Here are the pictures that I took of their bouquets and boutonnieres before heading out to the wedding for set up on Sunday. She loved them, and it was probably my proudest moment of the season so far, particularly because I'm so new at floral design. I'm very fortunate to work with couples who are willing to take a chance on me. I hope I'm doing them proud.
