Last year, we worked an fun Kate Spade inspired wedding (to be featured soon!) that was filled to the brim with the most beautiful flowers designed and arranged by Erin Carmichael of Full Bloom Floral Design, but no one could take them home at the end of the night because all of the guests were from out of town. With permission from the bride (shout out to my homegirl Ashley!), we took the 2 car loads of flowers home and re-purposed them for a full styled shoot for the following day. It was the fastest shoot we have ever did: the whole concept, team and set up came together in less than 12 hours. When opportunity knocks... right?
We pretended that we were throwing a luscious and lavish dinner party. We combined many of the centerpieces that Full Bloom created until we had an enormous garland extending down the table, and we overstuffed the two large white urns that were used as alter markers at Ashley and Adam's ceremony. The giant wood table, heavy dark drapery and moody blue-toned walls of Catalina's living room were the perfect backdrop for the bright blushes and soft vanilla flowers that we had stored in her garage overnight.
We borrowed the delicate mercury glass votives from our friends at Amy & Jen Decor, and Anne-Marie Bouchard of AMBphoto came to our rescue again and shot everything on film for us. Swoon. We were absolutely thrilled at how quickly everything came together, and we couldn't be happier with the final look.
