If you have followed Satin & Snow since we launched back in February 2012, you know that we have admired Saja Weddings ever since our second post ever when we featured their 2012 collection (and every collection since). As it turns out, the Saja team noticed that we are their greatest admirers north of the border, and the New York based studio reached out and sent us the pictures for the entire 2015 collection, and we couldn't be more thrilled to feature them today.
When I was in New York a couple weeks back, I was strolling through SoHo and actually stumbled on the very busy flagship store itself! It was great to see the 2015 collection in person and thought I'd snap a couple pictures:
Their newest collection is, in a word, ethereal. The 2015 Bridal Collection embodies the terms refinement, completion of beauty and illumination of inner loveliness in mind. We thought about how pearls are formed inside of simple oysters. Through a similar incubation and mining of our ideas, we strived to create something that can be described as beautiful and timeless in the end.
To bring this collection to life, we worked with ethereal fabrics like silk chiffon and weightless silk organza alongside lustrous and glowing heavy silk satin. The dresses are accented with pearls and glass beads, hand-done by hours of tender, loving care, as well as embroideries that were created to emulate a one-of-a-kind lace motif. Not one dress was designed without creative hibernation and extensive afterthought to make it just right.
Our first foray into a trained skirt, this modern dress has a matte chiffon top over heavy silk satin. Its illusion blouson top with split sleeves and delicate picot edges is a welcoming juxtaposition to the heavy eggshell satin underneath. It’s effortlessly chic, dropped waist silhouette comes with a train, giving a bride ultimate comfort and beauty. Can be accessorized with many sashes and belts from our accessory page.
Decadent pearls and glass beads frame a sweetheart neckline on this glamorous, silk satin dress. It’s sleek, sheath silhouette give a nice juxtaposition to the elaborate, decorative neckline and create just the right amount of impact for the classically, elegant bride.
Hours of hand beading by the artisans give life to the one-of-a-kind scalloped lace motif that decorates this sleek and elegant silhouette. Paired with a low, plunging back, this dress is truly the epitome of femininity with elaborate details yet subtle elegance.
Layers of fabric and intricate beading leave nothing to be desired on this special piece. Silk satin lining sits underneath delicate lace for a layered silhouette. Sheer silk organza falls gently over the lace to create a soft, a-line skirt. Weightless volume is echoed by heirloom quality workmanship through a hand-beaded bodice in a lace motif.
This romantic, sheer V-neck dress is a reinvention of one of our classic favorite styles. The added drama, with ever so softly dropped shoulders, is in perfect harmony with the flowiness of the dress for truly effortless elegance.
This refined pearl-beaded dress has an illusion neckline on the front bodice and a plunging v-neck on the back. It's A-line skirt is enhanced by the weightlessness of silk organza, giving it light, dreamy volume. The scattered pearl beading is simply delightful.
Our play on a long sleeved wedding dress, this elegant and modern dress has a plunge back with a layered front neckline and one-of-a-kind floral hand embroidery that cascades down the front bodice as well as along the sleeves. Its impossibly long silhouette will also elongate the bride.
